Welcome to 2024 Summer Learning EdVentures
From transitioning to new grade levels to college and career readiness, Summer EdVentures provides a comprehensive approach that supports the whole child throughout the entire month of June. This extended learning opportunity ensures that students remain engaged and prepared for their educational journey, fostering growth and achievement beyond the typical academic calendar.

Traditional summer support

Serves as a valuable extension of learning beyond the regular school year. It provides students with an opportunity to reinforce key concepts, address learning gaps, and prepare for success in the upcoming school year.

High School End-of-Course (EOC) | By Invitation Only: To graduate high school, all students must pass an end-of-course (EOC) exam for each of these subjects: Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, and US History. High School Credit Recovery | If a student needs to recover credit, Garland ISD wants to help them catch up! Special classes will be offered during the summer for students in this situation. Summer Dual Credit | Students currently in grades 9-12 can earn college credit hours over the summer to ensure they are on track for graduation. 8th Grade Accelerated Math & Science (AMS)/Accelerated Geometry | Full-day accelerated rigorous Geometry Honors course hosted by North Garland AMS math teachers. Invite only for incoming 9th-grade AMS students. The remaining seats will be awarded to qualifying students based on a lottery. Early College Geometry | By invitation only for 9th and 10th-grade ECHS/PTECH students identified by campuses to take Geometry during the summer to free up space in their traditional school year schedule. This program takes place online, but is extremely intensive and should not be taken at the same time as any other courses. TSIA2 Boot Camp | The TSIA2 Boot Camp is for Juniors and Seniors who have not met the college readiness standards in English and Math on the ACT, SAT, or TSI tests. College Bridge | This transition program is for incoming 9th graders who are accepted into the ECHS, P-TECH and NF Collegiate Academy. Camp GISD
Camp GISD is a FREE, full-day summer camp for students entering grades 1-8. Classes include Art, Chess, STEM and more! Available classes are listed below.
Seats will be offered based upon a family lottery system to ensure fair and equitable selection. Registration is open from Monday, April 29 through Monday, May 6. *

*The AVID and Dyslexia programs are by invitation only. The lottery system and registration won't apply for those students.

Self-Expression using Digital Tools (Grades 3-5) | CANVA gives students the flexibility to express themselves through digital tools. Music Enrichment (Grades 3-5) | Students will explore concepts like rhythm, meter, tempo, lyrics, rhyme, and melody and create rhythmic, melodic, and lyrical phrases through composition. Space Camp (Grades 6-8) | Limit: 30 participants - these students will not rotate through the other enrichment programs, they will be with the space camp teachers the entire time. Agriculture (Grades 5&6) | Limit: 30 participants - these students will not rotate through the other enrichment programs, they will be with the agriculture teachers the entire time. CodeHER (Grades 6-12) | Limit: 20 participants these students will not rotate through the other enrichment programs, they will be with the Coding teachers the entire time. Open to incoming middle school and high school female students (grades 6-12). Welcome to our Coding Camp for Girls! Get ready to dive into the exciting world of programming and unleash your creativity with different programming languages. Designed for female students in grades 6 - 12, our camp offers hands-on learning experiences where you'll explore Python coding from basics to advanced concepts. Arts & AV (Grades 6-8) | Limit: 20 participants. Open to incoming middle school students (grades 6-8) NOTE: The camp is identical both weeks. Students can apply only for one week. Hands-on experience for middle school students interested in audiovisual (AV) technology, communication skills, and media production. Our camp is designed to foster creativity, technical proficiency, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. Students will work on creative projects, such as producing short films, podcasts, or multimedia presentations. They will learn important vocabulary from the Academic Word List (AWL) to improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills.
