What Unitary Status Means for Garland ISD Families

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the Garland ISD Board of Trustees voted to agree with a Motion for Unitary Status filed by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding our desegregation order that officially recognizes the district’s long-standing progress toward equity.

Student Nutrition Services Earns Recognition Awards

Student Nutrition Services recently received three 2025 Healthy Meals Incentives Recognition Awards from Action for Healthy Kids, including Lunch Trailblazer, Innovation in Nutrition Education, and Innovation in the Preparation of School Meals.
