Walnut Glen Academy for Excellence earns a 98 TEA rating, tying for the third-highest among Texas elementary schools and the highest in Garland ISD.

In 2025, roughly 15% of GISD graduates earned an associate's degree alongside their high school diploma, a percentage that ranks among the highest in Texas and likely the nation for large urban school districts.
