As this year's H-E-B Excellence in Education Outstanding Large School District in Texas, Garland ISD's continued success is no coincidence. The district is proud to announce an accountability score of 86, an impressive five-point increase in just two years. More than 95% of campuses earned an acceptable accountability rating, and for another consecutive year, no Garland ISD campus received an F rating.

This significant growth reflects the district's continued focus on high-quality instruction, strong leadership, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed. Most importantly, it reflects the commitment and hard work of Team GISD.

"This achievement belongs to everyone in Garland ISD," said Superintendent Dr. Ricardo López. "Our teachers work tirelessly to provide outstanding learning experiences for students, but their success is strengthened by an entire team. From counselors, nurses and coaches to bus drivers, custodians, campus leaders and district staff, every employee plays an important role in helping our students thrive."

The district's improved accountability score demonstrates the impact of maintaining high expectations, responding to student needs, and working together toward a shared vision of excellence. While Garland ISD celebrates this important milestone, district leaders remain focused on building on the progress and continuing the work needed to achieve even greater results for students.

"We are incredibly proud of how far we have come, but we know our work is not finished," said Dr. López. "We will continue working with urgency, supporting our campuses and believing in what is possible for every student. This growth proves what Team GISD can accomplish when we move forward together."

A five-point increase in two years is more than a number; it represents the dedication of thousands of employees, the perseverance of our students, and the support of our families and community.
