

Prop A: Student Programs

If approved, Proposition A is projected to generate up to $9.8 million in additional operational revenue for Board-approved student programming. This page outlines how those funds could be allocated.

Career & Technical Education (CTE)
- 89.9% of GISD high school students participate in at least one CTE course.
- Programs provide hands-on training that aligns with workforce needs and post-graduation career opportunities.
- Additional funding from Proposition A could be used to maintain staffing levels, materials, and certifications for these programs.

Fine arts
- 39,825 students currently participate in fine arts across elementary, middle, and high schools.
- Fine arts programs include visual arts, music, theatre, and dance.
- Additional revenue from Proposition A could be used to sustain district-wide K-12 fine Aats offerings at current service levels.

Magnet programs
- GISD offers magnet programs with specialized pathways starting at the elementary level and continuing through high school.
- Focus areas include STEM, leadership, and gifted & talented enrichment.
- Proposition A funding could help maintain current magnet program staffing and resources.
