School Closures

Due to the forecasted severe weather and unsafe road conditions, all GISD schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, January 9, and Friday, January 10, 2025. All GISD after-school activities scheduled for those days are also canceled. See the Weather Procedures page for more details.

The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, in collaboration with the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), extends its support to culinary students through an annual scholarship program. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students pursuing apprenticeship programs, certificate programs, or post-secondary degree programs in the culinary, pastry, or foodservice-related fields.

 

Scholarship deadlines are April 30 and October 31 of each year.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Exemplary Student: • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

2. Acceptance to Accredited Institution: • Currently accepted to an accredited institution with a major in culinary, pastry, or foodservice-related fields.

Application Procedure:

The application process involves a point system, and applications will be evaluated by the scholarship selection committee.

Points can be earned for the following:

• Academic Grade Point Average • Culinary Competition Participation • Culinary Volunteer Activities • ACF Involvement
