GISD Board calls for Nov. Prop A election

If passed, Proposition A is projected to provide about $56 million in additional funds annually for teacher and staff salaries, student programs, specialized education services and safety and security. 

The Black Future Foundation was established in 2020 and focuses on providing scholarships to Black college bound students.  This organization was created to support, empower and educate our leaders of tomorrow by providing financial support and a network of mentorship.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Black or African-American

  • GPA ≥3.2

  • Residency in the United States

  • High School Senior

  • Must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university

  • Must be a first generation college student

  • Applicants selected as Finalists must provide a copy of their FAFSA
