GISD Board calls for Nov. Prop A election

If passed, Proposition A is projected to provide about $56 million in additional funds annually for teacher and staff salaries, student programs, specialized education services and safety and security. 

The Rhetta Washington McCoy Technology scholarship is to be awarded to high school seniors who exhibits high academic standards and who does not have the technology to be successful at a 4 year college or university.

Award information

The winner will receive a scholarship of a technology bundle.

Two Options:

Option 1 consist of a laptop, laptop bag, and a 3in 1 printer and 2 ink color print cartridges.

Option 2 consists of a 3 in 1 Printer, 2 ink color print cartridges. Microsoft windows suite and a flash drive. 

Eligibility Requirements

- Must be a high school senior

- Must plan to pursue post high school studies (4- year college) 

- Must be active in the community or other organizations 

- Must be a resident of Dallas County

-Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA
