Join the Department of Multilingual Programs for our annual Emergent Bilingual Conference! Language professionals have the opportunity to spend a full day learning strategies, ideas, and best practices from language acquisition experts.

Our goal for 2025 is to bring experts in the field of multilingual education together so educators can take away a toolbox of best practices to ensure their Emergent Bilingual students graduate with the knowledge, skills, and language to "Unlock the Future''.

Attending the conference

Both GISD staff members and staff from other local districts can attend.

GISD professional staff should register for the event to get Exchange Day credit:

GISD Staff Registration

About the conference

EBCON is an annual conference hosted by Garland ISD's Department of Multilingual Programs. This conference is designed to equip educators with tools that will empower Emergent Bilingual students, through practices that build agency and accelerate learning to close the achievement gap.
