Bothers hug on snowy background with Christmas lights. The words, Holiday Homecoming Surprise appears

Nico Torres, a third grader at Freeman Elementary, had an unexpected visit at school. With the help of his mom, teacher, and campus principal, Nico's brother, who's in the U.S. Army, got to surprise him at school and tell him he'll be home for Christmas!

Edward Torres, a Garland High School graduate, has not seen Nico in three months. Nico is thrilled to have his brother home for the holidays.

"I get to spend Christmas with my whole family. I'm just glad he [Edward] is home," Nico said.

Welcome home, Edward. Edward and Nico will have much to catch up on during the holidays. We are glad GISD and Freeman Elementary could help with the surprise. We greatly appreciate your service.
