Through our Choice of School program, families have the unique opportunity to truly customize education by choosing to attend any campus in the district based on individual interests and learning styles.

Your child can play an instrument, explore the stars, join a state champion esports team, or rush for a game-winning touchdown under the Friday night lights. Students can choose from a vast list of career-tech certification programs–all while earning free college credit!

GISD offers programs to fit the diverse needs of all students. The district has prekindergarten for ages three and four, Montessori schools, rigorous magnet programs at all three levels, nationally recognized fine arts and Air Force Junior ROTC. Students can begin a career path to become a television star, an emergency medical technician, an entrepreneur, a certified welder, a cybersecurity expert, a hairstylist, an accredited motorcyclist repair specialist, a chef, an engineer and more!

The time to choose the perfect school for your child is fast approaching. Families with students entering first-12th grade can make their top three campus selections from Jan. 3-Feb. 20. The early childhood Choice of School period for those entering prekindergarten and kindergarten runs March 21-May 4.

Selections should be made online via Skyward Family Access. New students are also encouraged to enroll through Skyward during the outlined dates.
