Fourteen Schools Earn Texas Honor Roll Recognition
Unmatched excellence continues across Garland ISD as 14 schools earn Texas Honor Roll recognition for strong results across all student groups.
Garland ISD is celebrating a major achievement: 14 schools earned a place on the 2025 Texas Honor Roll, presented by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP). The recognition is part of the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), which honors schools that excel in preparing students for future success.
The Texas Honor Roll recognizes high-performing schools and districts based solely on objective student achievement data. Developed in partnership with state and local business leaders, the program highlights successful schools and encourages the sharing of best practices that support student achievement.
Using publicly available State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) data from 2023–2025, ERP identified schools and districts across the state demonstrating consistently strong academic performance. Garland ISD’s Honor Roll schools stood out for their achievement in reading, language arts, and math, with strong results across all student groups and notable progress among historically underserved populations.
To qualify for the Honor Roll, schools and districts must perform above the state mean at least 80 percent of the time across all student cohorts and grade levels served. This year, 1,076 schools and 84 school districts across Texas earned Honor Roll distinction, representing approximately 15 percent of schools and 14.5 percent of districts statewide.
The analysis groups schools and districts with similar demographics to ensure fair comparisons and provides a clear picture of academic excellence across diverse communities.
This recognition reflects Garland ISD’s continued commitment to academic excellence and student success. Honor Roll schools serve as models of effective instructional practices and demonstrate what is possible when high expectations and strong support come together.
