MTSS
MTSS (multi-tier system of supports) is a foundation that provides academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions organized into tiers (or levels) of support. MTSS supports the whole child, allows adults to team up to support struggling students, and it is for ALL students. MTSS is a framework that organizes how we think about the things that we do. It is a set of habits that allow early interventions.
Garland ISD believes that this Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework will help us achieve our school and community’s commitment to the mission of achieving positive and equitable outcomes for all of our students. As MTSS is a problem-solving and prevention model that utilizes data-based decision-making we are confident that individual student needs will be met and that they will experience success within our district.
