School Closures

Due to the forecasted severe weather and unsafe road conditions, all GISD schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, January 9, and Friday, January 10, 2025. All GISD after-school activities scheduled for those days are also canceled. See the Weather Procedures page for more details.


The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to American Indian and Alaska Native college students who are enrolled in certificate, undergraduate, or graduate programs at tribal colleges and universities, or nonprofit, accredited schools.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or Canadians eligible to attend college in the U.S. under provisions of the Jay Treaty, enrolled in a certificate, associate, bachelor’s, or graduate program at an accredited tribal, public, or private (non-profit) college or university as a full-time student, be registered as an enrolled member of a federal or state recognized tribe, or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled tribal member (Alaska Natives may use Native Corporation membership), and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
