A dedicated group of seven members, Garland ISD’s Board of Trustees is responsible for more than 57,000 students and 7,200 employees. Trustees volunteer countless hours as advisors, decision-makers, problem solvers and supporters of the district and they receive no compensation for their work. Their actions and decisions affect the future of our district and ensure excellence in education. 

That’s why GISD has designated January as School Board Appreciation Month. Our theme this year is "Locally Elected, Community Connected".
