Choice of School Coming Soon

Choice of School and magnet applications for grades 1-11 open on December 1.

Thank you voters

Your support of Proposition A is an extraordinary act of trust in our schools, our teachers, and our students. We are grateful for the overwhelming community support.

Your vote is about gratitude, appreciation, and responsibility. You chose to preserve and protect our four proposition priorities:
(1) retaining and recruiting exceptional teachers and staff,
(2) maintaining vital student programs,
(3) strengthening Special Education services, and
(4) prioritizing safety and security across every campus.

Thank you for believing these priorities matter. Thank you for believing our students deserve stability, opportunity, and the very best we can offer.

I am deeply grateful to our Board of Trustees for their leadership, to our Citizen Steering Committee for their dedication, and to every parent, staff member, volunteer, and community partner who took the time to learn about Proposition A. Your engagement, your conversations, questions, and willingness to vote reflect a powerful belief in the future of our children.

While the passage of Proposition A protects these four priorities, it does not resolve all of our financial challenges. Our district will still need to make thoughtful reductions in other areas, and like many districts across Texas, we continue to depend on our state legislators to prioritize and fully fund public education. As a community, we need to continue to advocate for the long-term investment of our public school system.

Together, we will keep Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse, and our entire Garland ISD community, at the forefront of preparing our students for college, careers, and life.
