At the elementary level, offerings include Montessori, academies, MSTs, classical, and dual language programs. Each magnet program has unique criteria that students must meet to apply.

Personalized special education
GISD Special Education provides individualized support and a comprehensive range of services for students with disabilities from birth through age 21. Services include early identification through the Child Find system, specialized instruction for dyslexia, and transition programs such as Project SEARCH and Meeting and Catering Services (MACS).

Yes. Families may transfer at any time if space is available at the campus. GISD ensures a smooth transition so students can continue their coursework without interruption.
What academic support does GISD offer for new or transferring students?
Every student is paired with a counselor or academic advisor to review transcripts, align classes, and create a personalized learning plan.
How does Garland ISD support bilingual and dual-language learners?
Bilingual and multilingual students can participate in a variety of services and programs that will help them develop their academic and language skills in English, while continuing to develop their home language. Programs include ESL and one-way and two-way Dual Language Immersion.

Will my student receive transportation if we transfer to Garland ISD?
Transportation is available for students who live within designated zones or magnet programs. GISD also offers specialized transportation for certain transfer routes.
