Helen Gee Chin Scholarship
The Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation was formed in 2011, in memory of Sifu Calvin Chin’s beloved wife and administrator of the Academy for 15 years, who passed away after a brief battle with cancer. It was an opportunity to take a terrible loss and turn it into something positive.
The Foundation awards college scholarships to encourage academic achievement and motivate individuals to become serious practitioners of Chinese martial arts.

Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Five or more years of study in Chinese Martial Arts (Kung Fu, Wu Shu, or Tai Chi)
- “B” average grade or better
- Enrollment in an accredited U.S. four-year college or university for the entire academic year for which the applicant is applying
- Scholarship recipients will be selected based on criteria such as martial arts study and achievement, academic achievement, a written essay, and participation and leadership in community and school activities.
