The Metropolitan Dallas Alumnae Chapter (MDA) was chartered on August 8, 1985 as the 754th chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In 1988, MDA was granted incorporation papers by the State of Texas to purchase property for the establishment of a life development center known as One Delta Place (ODP).

ODP consists of a conference room, technology lab, and a spacious meeting room used for large group meetings, seminars or workshops. For over 30 years ODP has served as a visible sign in the Dallas community where youth, adults and families are exposed to empowering and uplifting seminars; workshops and a variety of community services tailored to meet their needs. As well, ODP has served as a site for community health screenings, community forums and is the primary meeting place for three academic empowerment programs (Delta AcademyDelta GEMS, and EMBODI) for youth ages 11‐18.

Currently, the chapter has a membership of over 200 professional, college‐educated women of which 100% are registered voters who reside in the greater Dallas area.
