Who is eligible for TIA?

Eligible teachers include most teachers with at least one year-long course in the following areas:

• PK-12 Math
• PK-12 Reading Language Arts
• 2-8 Science
• 6-12 Social Studies
• Languages Other Than English. 

Teachers should check their course numbers to ensure they teach a TIA-eligible course.

Minimum Requirements for 2023-2024 School Year*

• Employee Role is 087 Classroom Teacher for data capture year (2022-2023) and data submission year (2023-2024)
• A rating of at least 3 (Proficient) in all dimensions of T-TESS Domains 2 & 3 on SUMMATIVE evaluation
• Teaches a TIA-eligible course during the 2022-2023 school year
• Student Growth measure has a minimum group size of 15 tests
• Student Growth measure has a minimum of 90% of eligible students with a Pre/Post test (Previously established at 95%)

*Meeting all minimum requirements does not mean that a teacher will be recommended for a designation.

How much can you earn?

The TIA Funding Map provides a general idea of possible stipend amounts but keep in mind that the:

• map data lags by one year
• map displays 100% of the awards (GISD pays teacher 90%, 10% goes to district program costs)
• award amounts vary based on teacher status and campus location. Use the search feature to find details.
