#ChooseGarlandISD Expo showcases excellence, opportunities
More than 700 people experienced #TheGISDEffect at the #ChooseGarlandISD Expo Tuesday, Dec. 7.
#TheGISDEffect was on full display as more than 700 people learned about valuable opportunities and excellence in education at the #ChooseGarlandISD Expo on Tuesday, Dec. 7. The free event offered families a chance to meet staff, explore academics, and learn about college and career options.
Representatives from all 71 Garland ISD schools mingled with families, showcased specialized programs and answered questions during the three-hour event. Despite facing two obstacles—a one-year gap due to the pandemic and a rescheduled event date due to a November power outage—the affair was a true success.
"I was so happy to see so many families excited to learn about their school options and able to get answers to questions they had," said Magnet Programs Facilitator Tammy McDonald. "We thank all of the staff and students who helped make the second-ever #ChooseGarlandISD Expo possible."
