GISD Board calls for Nov. Prop A election

If passed, Proposition A is projected to provide about $56 million in additional funds annually for teacher and staff salaries, student programs, specialized education services and safety and security. 

We strive to develop students to reach their highest level of linguistic potential and contribute to a globalized society.  Our students will be prepared to meet the demands of the future through the implementation of a rigorous, authentic curriculum which leads to successful, lifelong communication in a second language, as well as a deep understanding of the culture being studied.

The World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages provides information on foreign language standards set on the national level. These standards are used to help guide the state standards and provide the ideal objectives of foreign language education.
