Ten GISD schools have been named to the annual Texas Honor Roll, presented by the Educational Results Partnership.

The Garland High School Speech and Debate Team is celebrating after competing at the National Speech and Debate Tournament.

Garland ISD Student Nutrition Services has expanded the Summer Meal Program this year to better serve the community. In addition to providing breakfast and lunch at select campuses, meals will also be available at five community sites, and curbside meal pickup will be available in Rowlett.

The El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its newest inductee, Garland ISD Assistant Director of Athletics Mike Williams.

Fourth graders from WGA traveled to Austin and San Antonio to experience what they are learning in Texas History and Science. The students visited the Texas State Capitol where they met a couple of legislators, The Alamo, and the Inner Space Cavern.

Fourth grade students from Beaver MST traveled to Austin, TX to experience what they are learning in Texas History. The students visited the State Capitol where they met a couple of legislators and the Bullock Texas State History Museum. 

The district's safety efforts are boosted as the installation of forced-entry-resistant film begins at all campus main entrances.
