Congratulations to Garland Independent School District's top scholars! We are thrilled to announce the valedictorians and salutatorians for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Garland Independent School District is taking its lessons to the next level by introducing a state-of-the-art 360-degree domed screen with interactive simulations at Lakeview Centennial's Planetarium. The planetarium technology provides teachers a mesmeric and interactive experience for their students, employees, and families.

Garland ISD held its highly anticipated "Teacher of the Year" awards ceremony, where the district winners for both Elementary and Secondary schools were announced.

Residents of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse will have an extra item to consider on the May 6, 2023, ballot. At a special meeting on February 14, the Garland ISD Board of Trustees approved calling for a bond election. If passed, the bond would modernize aging facilities, enhance student safety, and provide additional infrastructure upgrades for GISD students.

The Garland ISD Education Foundation has awarded 200 grants and scholarships to teachers and staff across the district, totaling $230,063. The grants and scholarships were awarded to a wide variety of educators, all of whom had submitted proposals outlining their ideas and plans for improving classroom lessons and furthering their education.

Garland ISD has been named one of five Outstanding School Districts in Texas by H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards.
