Senior citizens, veterans, active duty military and parents of young children not yet enrolled in GISD are encouraged to connect with us via VIP and Littles Club memberships.

Garland ISD is proud to be one of six districts chosen for The Holdsworth Center Partnership, a five-year journey that will help us grow more strong, inspiring leaders to help teachers thrive and students succeed.

SGS is committed to a common goal: more students in better schools every year. Eighteen districts have joined SGS from 2017-19, and GISD is proud to be a member of Cohort 4, launching this year.

With less than five percent of districts across the nation earning this award, it acknowledges GISD’s dedication to transformational change in the interest of equity and the well-being of all students.

Garland ISD's history of being financially responsible, stretching budgets, doing more with less and being good stewards of taxpayer dollars is being recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

In February, Dr. López launched a listening tour to gain feedback for future planning. He asked students, staff, families and communities three simple questions through the end of the school year.
