As part of the Texas A&M-Commerce President's Promise Scholarship, students may qualify to have any remaining balance on college tuition not covered by other financial assistance paid for by the program for up to eight semesters. In addition to covering tuition, the program will connect students with advisors, mentors, and faculty to aid with student success in school.

How to qualify for the Promise Scholarship

  • Have a completed FAFSA/TASFA on file by May 15 and meet the deadline every semester to renew

  • Be officially admitted to Texas A&M-Commerce and earning a bachelor’s degree for the first time

  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 15 hours per semester (fall and spring)

  • Be a Texas resident

  • Be classified as a freshman and enrolled immediately following high school graduation

  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater and maintain it during the program

  • Have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) between $0 and $5,576 and a Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $50,000 or less
